Are You Making Conscious Money Decisions?

Are You Making Conscious Money Decisions?

Have you ever felt guilt or shame because of overspending or underspending? When triggered by a money situation, it is impossible to feel in control.

“You must gain control over your money or the lack of it will forever control you.”    -Dave Ramsey

Money impacts everyone on a daily basis, yet many people feel disconnected, especially when it comes to spending and savings habits. Feeling disempowered with money can lead to unconscious overspending and underspending, fueling those feelings of guilt and shame.

How much you spend and what you spend it on is only part of the equation. What matters most is taking back your power when it comes to money, including overspending, underspending and saving, instead of repeating the same story.

So, how do you begin to write that new story that will empower you financially?

Stop using the past to define you!

An individual’s spending habits and financial situation can often have emotional baggage attached to them, especially if the choices you made continue to impact you now. The heavier the load, the harder it is to move forward financially. Focusing on the past perpetuates the negative patterns that can leave you feeling disconnected and disempowered. There is more than one reason why the windshield is so much larger than the rearview mirror!

It’s time to move forward. Have compassion for who you were when making those financial decisions. Everyone makes mistakes. Having compassion isn’t about justifying or making excuses for choices, it’s about recognizing your humanity. You made financial decisions in the past with the knowledge and mindset you had at that point in time. Focus on the lessons learned and …

Start making decisions from where you want to be!

When I first heard that statement, I thought, “How can I make decisions from where I want to be … I’m not there?” If you want to be a 7 Figure business owner (but are not quite there yet) and a financial situation arises, ask yourself:

What would a 7-Figure business owner do in this situation?

Regardless of what type of change you want to experience in life (money included), the decision always comes first.

Decide you are going to free yourself from unconscious spending patterns and habits that do not serve you. Start asking yourself questions to gain clarity.

  • What type of spender do I want to be? Focus on the identity you want to embrace moving forward.
  • What do I value about the product, service or experience I’m spending money on?
  • Why is saving money important to me?
  • What percentage of money coming in will I commit to saving?
  • What strategies can I implement to reach my financial goals?
  • Who can I reach out to for guidance and support?
  • How will my life be different when I reach my financial goals?

Clarity leads to empowered consciousness!

Money will always be a part of your life. When you implement positive strategies and habits regarding spending and saving, you put yourself in the Driver’s Seat! You control money, it no longer controls you.“Money is only a tool. It will take you wherever you wish, but it will not replace you as the driver.”  -Ayn Rand
